My Experience
I have gained my counselling qualification in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy; a National Counselling Society accredited course run by Academy S.P.A.C.E (Sheffield Psychotherapy and Counselling Education).
I am on an Accredited Register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority
I currently work as a Wellbeing Advisor at The University of Sheffield empowering students to manage their own mental wellbeing, through offering psycho education, self-help interventions, support and guidance.
I have worked as an honorary counsellor at The University of Sheffield supporting students with 1-1 Counselling who are experiencing a variety of issues; ranging from relationship difficulties, academic pressure, depression, anxiety, identity and low self-esteem.
I've gained experience as a volunteer counsellor at Pathways Family Support Center in Barnsley for 2 years which was primarily a domestic abuse service. Here I supported individuals to overcome traumatic experiences they had gone through and manage the lasting effects this had had on their lives.
I previously worked in a local youth homeless charity supporting vulnerable young people to live independently, facilitate personal development, maintain mental-wellbeing and develop essential skills for the future.
Prior to this I have worked as a support worker in a learning disability setting aiding personal development in both adults and children using a holistic approach delivering educational and therapeutic sessions.
